Most PorschePhiles agree the 1984-1989 911s were
some of the best ever produced. This generation of Carreras was well built
and equipped. Most importantly, these rear-engined rockets drive superbly.
While this beauty handles like its on rails, this is legendary 911 brawn at
its historic best.
This is a pristine example of this quality classic. The eye-grabbing,
ticket-me red is the artistic custom paintwork of Andy Toth, of Custom
Autobody in Phoenix. All trim, mirrors, handles, glass, hoods, bumpers,
etc., were removed to ensure flawless results and presentation. All rubber
seals replaced throughout, new hood gas shocks, new OEM windshield, 3M Clear
Bra, Dynamat sound insulation installed in doors and on floorpan. New
quilted engine noise insulation blanket replaced the OEM foam (all records
provided).
The OEM 4-way power Sport Seats were recovered by Autos International (LA)
using OEM materials – the match is remarkable (records provided). The SSR GT10 18-inch wheels
(width is 7.5” front & 9" rear) are clad with Pirelli PZero Russos (front
225/40R18 & rear 265/35R18).
This Carrera came loaded with factory options: power windows, mirrors, &
sunroof; front and rear spoilers; A/C; leather interior; alarm system;
cruise control; and upgraded Blaupunkt stereo CD and speakers. The A/C has
an upgraded evaporator and new blower. After-market interior adds include
Momo steering wheel (still have original), Momo graphite gear knob and
Porsche escutcheoned door handles.
This robust 3.2L flat six cylinder is smoke- and leak-free (84K miles). This car was
maintained by DJ at Don Jackson Enterprises (maintenance records provided).
Recent major service included wires, cap, rotor, plugs, belt, fluids,
filters, oxy sensor, K&N Performance Air Filter and valve adjustment. A new
clutch/press plate and 5-speed transmission synchronizer rebuild was done at
75K mileage. A Weitmeister TC-6000 performance chip and CAT bypass pipe (CAT
included) add about 5-7 hp. OEM Owner Manuals, portable vacuum, spare &
pump, & toolkit are present. CoverKing cover and extra OEM keys included.
This is a smoke- and accident-free classic.
This Carrera was first titled October 2, 1987 by the State of New York. The
first owner traded it in on January 1990. Audi Manhattan sold it to
an US Army civilian who then shipped it to Germany May 1990.
The third owner, USAF civilian in Ramstein, Germany, bought it August 1990.
The current (fourth) owner bought this car in Ramstein August 1993. Porsche
Cars North America, Inc. Certificate of Authenticity included.
